Deepak Chopra Deepak Chopra, M.D., F.A.C.P, founder of The Chopra Foundation, a non-profit entity for research on well-being and humanitarianism, and Chopra Global, a modern-day health company at the intersection of science and spirituality, is a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation. His 90th book and national bestseller, Metahuman: Unleashing Your Infinite Potential (Harmony Books), unlocks the secrets to moving beyond our present limitations to access a field of infinite possibilities. TIME magazine has described Dr. Chopra as “one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century.”

Although Corona being a possibility to be a pandemic and a threat for humanity, we had pandemics before. While the scientific world is preparing for a vaccine and how the virus mutates, one thing is for sure: The panic is creating its damage. Financial markets are influenced, and people are stressed. And they are stressed about being stressed.

What can YOU do: Make best use of lifestyle strategies, daily rituals to optimize the well-being of our body

1. Restful sleep between 7-8 hours
2. Reduce stress, use meditation and stress management techniques to reduce the inflammation in your body. Practice self-awareness, transcendence through mindful awareness to help your body establish homeostasis and self-regulation.
3. Movement and Exercise, yoga and breathing to activate your para-sympathetic nervous system
4. Focus on healthy emotion rather than panic. Support each other with love, compassion and empathy. Caring for each other with deep listening and showing appreciation.
5. Connection to nature
6. Healthy nutrition and supplements to decrease inflammation like ginger and tumeric concentrates, aloe vera, herbs (adaptogenes like: ashwagandha) Note from Mind You: Dr. Axe article: 7 Adaptogenic Herbs or Adaptogens that Help Reduce Stress)

Interesting that viruses don't respect national boundaries.

Learning: all boundaries are artificial

Quarantines are good, but a temporary measure.

What can we do: We should hope that governments and researchers, leaders come together because we have a challenge we are all facing together. This is time to reflect on our inter-dependance and inter-connectedness of economy, health and well-being. Follow the 6 points made above individually and on top respect the worldwide efforts.

minimise travel
avoid rubbing your eyes, mouth and nose
swop handshake for elbow greeting.
be positive
see the time of adversity as a time of reflection

Here some further thoughts:

  1. Be generally mindful, there are many contagious illnesses out there. The world is messy, and it is messy because we don't respect the eco-system of existence.

  2. Stay away from conspiracies. The common thought of the root of Corona's origin to stem from eating wild animals like bats. In parts of the world where animals are treated discriminately, wild animals even eaten there is no respect for the eco-system, not because of maliciousness, just because of our collective ignorance. We look for reduction as solution. The eco-system has naturally a balanced food chain, but we humans have become the victorious predators. so watch your diet, maintain your daily healthy rituals.

Chopra answers the live comment 'Matter is an illusion, so why worry about it'

Well he says, it is a convenient illusion, the body is a convenient illusion, matter is a convenient illusion....we are living in a constructed reality. But experience of illness is not an illusion, when you have the experience it feels real. Birth, death, the biological organism, pain, matter, everything physical is part of our collective projected reality from consciousness, if it feels real, if the experience appears real, it is to be treated as real. Knowing that the real you, REAL YOU = PURE CONSCIOUSNESS can not be affected by any experience. Even an experience we call pain or illness.

Corona is an opportunity to change to a completely HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.
We must respect life. Think of life as divine, then this challenge will only make us stronger.
